Since 1893, Ursuline Academy has empowered students for leadership and service in a global society. Inspired by the spirit of St. Angela Merici, Serviam, meaning “I will serve,” is the core of the school’s mission. As Delaware’s first all-girls Middle& Upper School, there is a long history of students becoming changemakers and global leaders who make an everlasting mark on the world. Students average 150 service hours per school year, supporting over 50 diverse nonprofits through volunteerism, fundraising, service projects and clubs, such as Students In Action and the Sunshine Club. Pictured, students make meals for the Ministry of Caring’s Emmanuel Dining Room, create cards with positive messages for children in local hospitals, and assemble Bliss Boxes – a project started by innovation students to make boxes with kinesthetic coping mechanisms for mental health facilities. Through Serviam, an internationally accredited and award-winning global education program, leadership and innovation curriculum, STEM, arts, athletics, and clubs, our students become confident, young women.
