Thirty years ago, Mike Borsello launched his business with a $200 loan for a push mower from his grandmother, and a Chevy S-10 pickup truck. What started as a simple lawn care service has grown into one of the region’s most trusted names in outdoor living.
Today, Borsello Landscaping is recognized for creating high-end outdoor spaces — from custom patios and plunge pools to complete backyard transformations — all tailored to reflect each client’s unique lifestyle and vision.
Grounded in Values, Growing with Purpose
Good design may be what brings clients through the door, but it’s Borsello’s values that keep them coming back. Mike has always believed that strong businesses are built on strong relationships with clients, team members, and the communities they call home.
He currently serves on the Building and Grounds Committee at Trinity Community Church in Hockessin and has been active in similar roles for Sanford School and Good Neighbors. In January 2025, Mike became a member of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, a natural fit as Borsello expands its presence on the coast.
Borsello Landscaping earned the BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics in 2005 and remains an accredited business with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau of Delaware. For over a decade, the team has been recognized as a Best of Delaware winner, earning this distinction every year since 2014.

Borsello’s Coastal Chapter: Where Legacy Meets Landscape
In May 2025, Borsello officially opened its newest location in Lewes, Delaware — a big milestone for the business and an even bigger moment for Mike and his family. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, hosted by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, brought together friends, clients, and industry partners who have long supported the Borsello team.
Executive Director of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, Betsy Reamer, offered a warm welcome, and local leaders, including Kelsey Hamilton of Boardwalk Builders and Realtor Katie Green of The Carrie Lingo Team, joined the celebration.
For Mike, this expansion is more than a business move—it’s a return to a place that holds deep personal significance. He and his wife, Gwynne, spent 15 years raising their children in South Bethany, and her family has been part of the Dewey and Rehoboth Beach communities for generations.

Inspired Design, Seamless Process
Each Borsello project begins with a conversation. Every client starts with a complimentary 60-minute consultation to talk through ideas, priorities, and goals. Once the design is approved, Borsello’s in-house crews — many of whom have been with the company for 7 to 10 years — bring the vision to life.
Project managers guide clients through each step, from budgeting and materials selection to the final walkthrough. Trusted partners, such as Clark’s Pools and Soake Pools, help extend the firm’s capabilities, but Mike and his team remain the steady, guiding hand behind every project. It’s that level of attention that keeps clients coming back — and telling their friends.

Looking Ahead
Mike’s love for creative design continues to drive the company. The Borsello name continues to reflect a family legacy that is rooted in craftsmanship, genuine care, and community.
The future is full of possibilities.
New ideas, new spaces, and new ways to serve clients are always on the horizon. But through it all, the Borsello team remains focused on the things that matter most — creating extraordinary outdoor spaces, delivering a personal experience, and staying true to the values that started it all.
Because for Mike and the team, that’s what lasting success will always look like.
