The Face of Workforce Development

The YMCA of Delaware believes that all young people deserve the opportunity to learn from new experiences, prepare for higher education, and discover job opportunities which lead to future career paths.

Each year, the YMCA serves thousands of teens across the state – many participate in leadership programs. One of their signature initiatives is the Teen Workforce Development Program, which strives to nurture potential in teens and create connections so they can launch successfully into a career. Students complete training on topics including workplace etiquette, communication skills, and interview preparation.  After completing the training, teens are provided with a paid internship at the Y, which can lead to full-time employment at the Y or local businesses.
