My very own bride, Dina, always laughs when she recalls the many people who asked her questions such as, “Where did you find the right boutique?” or, “Where did you find such beautiful flowers?” or, “How did you find that amazing hall?” Her reply: “I found it all in Delaware Bride.”
And I can promise that she didn’t use Delaware Bride because she was marrying its editor. It seemed that no matter where she went to shop or consult or sample, it was right there for the use of any bride-to-be, as well as any consultant.
I watched from a polite distance as the magazine turned Dina, a suburban Philly girl, into an instant planning professional. She learned just where to shop and went about it with a stunning efficiency. Within days, she had booked the venue (Bellevue Hall), found the calla lilies she wanted (Boyd’s Flowers), purchased a gorgeous dress (Irini’s), ordered a beautiful and delicious cake (Serpe & Sons), and lined up a photographer (Joel Plotkin). And how can I forget Especial Day?
We kept one thing foremost in mind: It was a day for sharing the love with the most important people in our lives. Nothing that could have stressed us out was a big enough deal to stand in the way of that fact. We were going to have some fun—and we did. The vendors handled all with ease, which left us free of care.
That’s my personal testimony. I may be biased, but Dina found that Delaware Bride made it a snap. Thank you, DB (and thank you, Dina, you little planning genius…)
