Oh, baby!
For her niece’s nursery, designer Josephine Kurtz of The Kurtz Collection, created a vibrant and whimsical space of eye-catching colors and patterns. An Osborne & Little wallpaper called Cockatoo’s makes a bold and colorful statement. A pouf ottoman by Cisco Brothers, a Kevin O’Brien custom pillow made of hot pink ombre velvet by Cisco Bothers and a metal rod starburst mirror with a gold leaf finish felt right at home. Kurtz also incorporated one of her own New Moon rugs, Trinidad. Its soft mocha brown complements the smaller palm leaf design in the window treatments in a fun and playful way. Finishing touches include drawer pulls of ceramic animal heads on the dresser and original artwork by her father, New Moon designer John Kurtz.
New addition
When this couple, owners of this Yorklyn home, learned they were about to have a third baby, they decided not to renovate the upstairs bathroom of their 117-year-old farmhouse into a master bath, turning it into a bedroom instead. The room got new pine floors, board-and-batten walls, new lighting and built-in shelves. Accents include reclaimed wood planks in the walls, a toy wagon made into shelves and an updated hand-me-down dresser.
Kidding around
