Ron Price, the founder and brewer at Blue Earl Brewery in Smyrna, readily admits that he’s a huge blues and jazz music fan. That’s why for the past four years, he has organized the Blue Soul Festival at his brewery.

But the festival wasn’t bringing in the kind of revenue that he had been hoping for, so he decided it was time for an evolution.

“I wanted to create an all-genre event and I thought of Jeremy Hebbel from Gable Music Ventures. I told him what my idea was about a year ago and he was all excited about it,” says Price.

Shazizzle Music Fest will take the place of the Blue Soul Festival and will occupy the brewery on Saturday, Oct. 12 from noon-7 p.m. Price says he came up with about five different names for the event but that Shazizzle was at the top of the list.

“The Urban Dictionary definition for the word is funky-fresh happiness,” says Price.

The multi-genre music fest will feature over 20 bands across three stages.

“I love blues and jazz, but it’s not all about me,” says Price.
