Del Shakes Kicks Off ‘Mostly Virtual Festival’

The festival will run from July 17 through Aug. 2 with a mixture of virtual and socially distanced events.

Don’t worry Shakespeare fans, the show will go on.

While Delaware Shakespeare can’t hold its Annual Summer Festival this year in Rockford Park, the organization will instead be hosting its {Mostly} Virtual Festival, spanning three weekends from July 17 to Aug. 2.

The festival will consist of original, Shakespeare-related digital programming. Much of the programming will be free and will debut on Facebook. It will be available later to watch on YouTube, according to the Del Shakes website.

Different programming includes Janssen’s Picnic Contest Launch Party, Two Blad Guys Direct The Tempest and Family Sundays.

On Aug. 1, Del Shakes will host a day of in-person programming at Rockwood with the Soliloquy Stroll or intimate encounters with great Shakespeare characters as you walk the grounds. While the in-person time slots are now full, virtual viewing tickets are available here.
