Share

From social distancing protocols to fair food, here are some quick things to note before you head to the Harrington fairgrounds.

While many events across Delaware have been cancelled due to COVID-19, the Delaware State Fair is still ready to roll. Before you go, here’s a quick fact sheet of what to know and what to bring before you head out.

When and where is the state fair happening?

The Delaware State Fair will take place from July 23 to Aug. 1 in Harrington. Hours of operation are from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 23, and daily from July 24 to Aug. 1 starting at 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

What COVID-19 protocols are in place?

Prior to attending, guests are encouraged to become familiar with the health policy under the page ‘COVID-19’ on the state fair’s website. Mandatory protocols for the event itself include face coverings—gaiter, surgical, and/or face shields—temperature checks required for entry, social distancing between visitors, consistent disinfection and sanitation, and communication, and signage training throughout the grounds.

Are there any social distancing measures?

Yes; the required social distancing measures include promoting six feet separation between each group in all queues, mandatory distances between guests on all rides, attractions, and seating areas, and protective equipment separating employees and guests.

Will there be fair food?

YES. From barbecue to every fried food you’ve been craving, the Delaware State Fair’s full menu can be found here.

How much are tickets?

No tickets are required between 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tickets are half the price between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and are regular price anytime from 4 p.m. to closing time. Special promotions for guests include unlimited ride wristbands, five day gate passes, and 10-day VIP parking.
