An NFL game is a massive stage for everyone involved. This Sunday, Delaware’s own Olivia Rubini will take that stage to perform a rendition of the national anthem before the Eagles vs. Steelers game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Rubini took to social media to announce the news earlier this week. “[I’m] so incredibly grateful for this beautiful opportunity to sing for my home team,” she said in the statement.
A rising star from Wilmington, Rubini has been recognized for her powerful voice, retro sense of style, and dynamic stage presence. She first gained national attention as a contestant on Season 25 of NBC’s The Voice earlier this year. Her blind audition—a soulful cover of Linda Ronstadt’s “Long Long Time”—garnered a positive response from both fans and coaches on The Voice.

Since the audition, Rubini has released a few singles including “Heartless Woman” and “Talk About Nothing.” The singer/songwriter has also appeared around the Wilmington area at festivals like the Wilmington Flower Market and the Middletown Ladybug Music Festival. With strong influences from artists like Fleetwood Mac and Harry Styles, Rubini’s audience spans a wide range of listeners, both young and old.
As she takes to the field this Sunday to sing the national anthem, Rubini will be representing the First State on one of the biggest stages in sports. The opportunity serves as a reminder not only of Rubini’s rising stardom, but also the incredible talent emerging from Delaware and the First State’s constantly growing impact on the entertainment world.
Tune in this Sunday at 4:25 p.m. to hear Olivia Rubini’s rendition of the national anthem before the Eagles vs. Steelers showdown, and follow her on Facebook or Instagram to keep tabs on new music, local performances and more.
