The Cambria Hotel Offers a Taste of Luxury in Rehoboth

The hotel is under construction and will offer luxuries like cabanas and a tiki bar to Rehoboth visitors. The catch? You won’t see the beach.

The first Cambria Hotel in the First State is full of surprises.

The beach area’s hospitality industry has experienced a growth spurt. Recent projects include Home2Suites by Hilton and Hyatt House, both in Lewes. In addition, more hotels are planned for downtown Rehoboth.

But there is nothing quite like the Cambria Hotel, now under construction in Rehoboth.

The four-story property will define luxury, complete with two Olympic-size outdoor pools with cabanas and a tiki bar. The Cambria will also have a heated indoor pool, a hot tub spa and a fully equipped fitness center.

The more than 100 guestrooms will boast private balconies overlooking a lush, landscaped property.

However, Delaware’s first Cambria is not on the ocean—it’s not even within walking distance. The 3.5-acre site is on Route 24 between Delaware Eye Institute and Beebe Healthcare’s Rehoboth campus.

The distance doesn’t concern Tauhid Islam of Pinnacle Hospitality, the hotel’s developer. It took him five years to find a suitable parcel for an upscale hotel with all the amenities. “It’s not easy,” the CEO acknowledges. “This was just the right size.”

The hotel will serve visitors to Lewes, Rehoboth and Dewey, and beach shuttles are a possibility. Guests need not leave the hotel to dine and wine; there will also be an on-site restaurant and bar.

With nearly 4,000 square feet of meeting space, the property will also appeal to event planners. The outdoor event area can accommodate up 400 guests, and there will be gazebos and other scenic spots for ceremonies.

The new site is not Pinnacle Hospitality’s first Cambria Hotel; the company has two in Ocean City, Maryland. A spring 2024 opening is planned for the Rehoboth hotel.
