Christina Cultural Arts Center Inc. will host the 2015 Christi Awards on Oct. 23 from 5:30-11p.m. The Christies—CCAC’s signature event—honor community members who are supportive of and passionate about the arts. This year, CCAC honors three individuals whose dedication to the arts have made significant impact in the community.
They are: Kenneth C. Brown, for Achievement by an Arts Educator; Juhi Jagiasi, M.D., for Volunteerism; and Darrell Andrews Jr., for Achievement in the Arts by a Youth. The 2015 Christi Awards acknowledge the impact the arts have on the quality of life in Wilmington by celebrating the wealth of arts and artists in the city through the theme Arts for Our City’s Sake.
The evening kicks off with a 5:30 p.m. performance by renowned jazz pianist Aaron Diehl, followed by the official Christi Awards ceremony outdoors in historic Willingtown Square. Then join an open-air, arts-infused party on Market Street, with DJs spinning in outdoor cafes, visual arts exhibits, live theater and dance, comedy improv, musical performances and more. Gourmet food and drink stations will be featured throughout the event footprint.
Conclude the evening of arts celebration with a high-energy, exclusive after-party featuring a performance by special guest Damon Bryson (of The Roots and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon) and music by DJ Statik. General tickets are $75 each and available now at ChristiAwards.org or CCACDE.org.
