The holidays will have come and gone before you know it, so make time in your busy schedule to enjoy the festive activities the First State has to offer. There’s a lot going on, but we’ve rounded up a handful of events that will surely kick the holiday cheer into high gear.

This pop-up winter wonderland in Rehoboth is a can’t-miss holiday treat. With a full lineup of entertainment throughout the season, there’s always something new to see. Enjoy ice skating, a holiday village, Christmas-themed markets, photo ops with Santa and much more. Plus, plenty of delicious food and beverages will be available at the beer garden, snack shacks and Frosty’s food trucks.

Millville’s Yuletide Celebration

Saturday, December 2

The town of Millville’s Yuletide Festival provides a full day of holiday fun. The day kicks off at 10 a.m. with a holiday craft show in the Community Center. Outdoor activities, starting at 3 p.m., include a Christmas tree lighting, s’mores making, hot chocolate sipping, live music, food and a visit from Santa. The tree will make its sparkly debut at dusk to finish off the evening.

Lewes Christmas Parade

It’s the 91st year for this parade, which starts at 5 p.m. and follows a route along Savannah Road to Second Street. With the Lewes Historical Society’s annual holiday market taking place earlier the same day, it’s easy to plan a full weekend of holiday fun in Lewes. The parade’s theme is “Celebrating an Old-Fashioned Christmas in Lewes.” The rain/snow date is Saturday, December 9.

Fenwick Island Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Friday, December 8

Fenwick’s annual Christmas tree lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the gazebo in Cannon Street Park. Hot chocolate and cookies will help keep you warm as you enjoy the official glow-up of Fenwick’s Christmas tree.

Dagsboro Christmas Parade

Tuesday, December 12

The annual Dagsboro Christmas Parade returns on Tuesday, December 12 at 7 p.m. Enjoy floats, marching units, fire trucks and a visit by Santa. This year’s Parade Grand Marshal is Miss Delaware 2023 and Dagsboro’s own Emily Beale. The parade begins at the entrance to Indian River High School on Main Street and comes into town, turning left on Clayton Street and ending at the Fire Hall.
