If you’re a shark enthusiast or a sour beer lover, you won’t want to miss this summer event at Crooked Hammock’s Lewes location. The annual Shark Party is this week, promising an evening of coastal fun and summer vibes.
Brewmaster Larry Horwitz has turned up the volume on the brewery’s Shark Party fruited beer. The mixed berry sour pours deep red and honors the ocean’s apex predator. Shark Party is available both on draft and in 16-ounce cans, clocking in at 6.5% ABV. Lactose keeps the “ripe raspberry refresher” soft and sweet on the tongue.
The beer release and Shark Party celebration will take place this Thursday, July 25 at the Lewes brewery. Decade 80 will get the party started at 5 p.m. with high-energy covers of all your favorite 1980s hits. The band will provide live music through 8 p.m., and anyone can stop by and enjoy a taste of Shark Party throughout the evening.
But the real fun starts with Crooked Hammock’s VIP experience on The Porch Bar. With the purchase of a $55 ticket, guests receive exclusive access to an open bar and a “Shark Fest Buffet.” Curated and prepared by Crooked Hammock’s Chef Ted Deptula, the spread features shrimp skewers, meatloaf sliders, honey barbecue riblets and a slew of summer cookout favorites.
VIP guests can also enjoy other shark-themed fun including shark sunglasses, temporary tattoos, and water guns for a backyard super-soaker war. Crooked Hammock strongly encourages partygoers to embrace “all things sharky!” That means wearing outlandish costumes. (Think: Jaws characters, Delaware Beach Patrol, adult sharks, baby sharks, yacht captains, etc.)
Shark Party continues to be a summer rite of passage at Crooked Hammock.
