What to Do in Dewey Beach: A Day Trip Guide to the Coastal Town

Adobe Stock | Nicole

This spring, travel to Delaware’s waterfront town to dine, dance and drink at these local restaurants, shops and beachside destinations.

Known for its vibrant nightlife and draw for younger crowds is Dewey Beach, a charming beach town located just south of Rehoboth Beach. But nightlife by the water isn’t the only thing this small beach town has to offer, especially for those wanting a relaxing day in the sun and sand.

The beachside hotspot, which is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay, offers waterside restaurants and hotels on both sides of Coastal Highway. Its unique waterside position paired with its small-town charm makes it a great place for those looking to relax.

9 a.m.—Start the day with breakfast at The Starboard

While The Starboard has quite a reputation as a live music venue and popular bar in the area, its breakfast might be equally as popular with those awake early enough to catch it. The Starboard offers outdoor dining and a wide range of breakfast menu items with eggs any way you like them, omelets with all the toppings you could desire and a lump crab skillet supposedly loved by the Hall of Fame Maryland Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Williams, according to The Starboard website.

For those looking to start the day with a creative cocktail creation, The Starboard offers a make-your-own bloody Mary smorgasbord every weekday between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
