Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Delaware at These Hotspots

St. Patrick’s Day may fall on a Tuesday this year, but there are still plenty of opportunities to wear green and partake in Irish festivities. Below is a list of many shenanigans taking place across the state.

Saturday, March 14

Deer Park Tavern’s St. Patty’s Day Celebration
Celebrate all day at Deer Park Tavern. The restaurant will also offer food deals, a DJ and Irish bagpipers on Tuesday, March 17.

Kelly’s Logan House
Enjoy a performance by The Thieves at Kelly’s Logan House, a stop on the St. Paddy’s Loop. Plus, drinks, dancing, glow sticks, and plenty of Tullamore Dew.

45th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Starting at noon, the Irish Culture Club of Delaware will bring its St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Hooley Celebration to Downtown Wilmington. The parade will begin at 4th and King Streets and proceeds up King Street to 15th Street. ICCD’s Hooley will be held at the corner of King & 12th streets following the parade. *UPDATE: The Irish Culture Club of Delaware announced that the parade has been cancelled due to health concerns, according to the organization’s Facebook page.

10th Annual Milford St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
Starting at 6 p.m., the Milford Pub Crawl allows attendees to visit downtown merchants who will have local breweries, wineries, and distilleries in their shops. Then, the crawl will send people to downtown pubs, taverns, bars, and restaurants. The crawl is hosted by Downtown Milford, Inc., a nonprofit supporting small businesses, history, beautification and culture in the city.

Block Party at Sheridan’s Irish Pub & Restaurant
Running from 3 p.m. to Midnight, enjoy a DJ set, live music and adult tricycle races. Plus, of course, food and drink. Sheridan’s is also promoting other St. Patrick’s Day events and specials like the Smyrna parade on March 15 and the restaurant opening at 9 a.m. on March 17 with no cover, and t-shirts to the first 50 guests.

Dover St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Head to Downtown Dover for a day of festivities. Festival Marketplace vendors will be set up from 1-5 p.m. The parade will begin at 3 p.m. It will start at the Legislative Mall area, head west on Loockerman Street and continue on Queen Street until the end at Wesley College’s Johnston Hall.

Opening Weekend at The Starboard
Kick off the season on Thursday at The Starboard when the Amish Outlaws play at 8 p.m., Kristen & the Noise Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday with Bryen O’Boyle at 2 p.m. The Starboard opens at 1 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Beer Brunch at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant

St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans at Big Oyster Brewery
The brewery opens at 11 a.m. and will be offering a limited can release of its Shamrock Dreamsicle beer. The Breakfast Beer Stout, brewed with Surf Bagel Chocolate Chip Bagels, will return on draft. Enjoy live music with Trent & The Trainwreck Duo from 1-4 p.m.

St. Patty’s Day Lucky Celebration at The Wheelhouse
Enjoy live music featuring East of the Mason Dixon Line starting at 2 p.m. There will be a scavenger hunt around town with a pot of gold at The Wheelhouse. St. Patrick’s Dinner/Dance Party at The Parish of St. Ann Bethany Beach
Hosted by the Saint Ann Men’s Club, this event will take place from 6-10 p.m.in Delaney Hall. An Irish corned beef dinner catered by Rosenfeld’s Jewish Delicatessen will be provided including desserts, an open soft bar (coffee, sodas, green punch), dancing, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, a karaoke Irish song sing-along and entertainment by the dancers from the McAleer-Paulson School of Irish Dance. St. Patrick’s Day at Dogfish Head
At Dogfish Head’s Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the release of Irish Dry Stout, a draft-exclusive brewed with roasted barley, flaked barley and Kent Goldings hops. The 4.0% ABV stout will hit taps at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, and will be available until it’s gone. Down at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Brewpub, folks will enjoy a sham-ROCKIN’ performance by the McAleer-Paulson School of Irish Dance, starting at 5:30 p.m.
