Casual-cool

Timeless Design by Kate Fitzerald-Wilks created a relaxed dining room that features a custom farm table and bench made of reclaimed oak. The wood and chrome six-light chandelier adds warmth to the room while the skirted host and hostess chairs with custom blue and white lumbar pillows add a touch of refinement. The custom-designed ripplefold window treatments in nautical blue and the antique dough bowl filled with starfish give a nod to the beach. (Photography: Scott Nathan)

Countryside charm

Period Architecture and Porter Construction collaborated to craft this Wilmington home that is punctuated with finely fashioned details and selectively chosen materials and finishes. A vaulted gallery with a wet bar and butler’s pantry connect to the courtly formal dining room, which is surrounded in rich textured wallpaper and highlighted by a stately chandelier.

Animal house

Kurtz Collection designer Josephine Kurtz redesigned an entire downstairs, including the dining room. The walls got a fresh coat of paint in Farrow & Ball’s “Arsenic,” a beautiful teal. The room includes several antiques, including a large antique Noah’s Ark painting. The gold leaf snake mirrors were custom made, as was the New Moon “Peacock” rug, which was handmade in Nepal.
