Dudamel Does Delaware

The Los Angeles Philharmonic makes its way to North Wilmington via film.

Many who live in North Wilmington have wondered what would come of the Brandywine Town Center, and whether their tax dollars would be spent on something cultural. If this weekend’s event is any indication, the center shows promise.

Here’s a first for the Brandywine Town Center 16 movie complex: a film capturing a live performance of the Los Angeles Philharmonic from the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

This Sunday, January 9, music lovers can see a full concert led by Gustavo Dudamel. Multiple HD cameras and 5.1 surround sound make for a realistic performance. If you can’t be in L.A., this is the next best thing.

The broadcast also offers a backstage look at the L.A. Phil, including interviews with Dudamel, guest soloists and orchestra musicians. The film highlights Dudamel’s musical background as well as his dedication to music education for youth.
