Sandra Borror
Board President and acting director, Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts
Of course, Borror’s top pick would be DCCA for programs like 2nd Wednesdays Art Lounge and the Art Loop, held the first Friday of each month. Borror and her husband enjoy UD’s Resident Ensemble Players because, “they always have a great line of classic plays, as well as new, edgy stuff.” The couple also enjoyed the recent season at Delaware Theatre Company and look forward to Market Street Music Thursday Noontime Concerts at First & Central Presbyterian Church in Wilmington.
Carlos Holmes
Director of News Services at Delaware State University, local church musician
“The Delaware Friends of Folk always have local artists, as well as outside artists,” says Holmes. “They just brought in an outstanding blues musician.” Holmes also touts the Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover for its wide variety of musical acts and productions throughout the year. Dover Downs Hotel & Casino presents nationally known musical and comedy acts, says Holmes, noting a recent performance by actor/comedian Tracy Morgan, among others.

Jim Hartzell
Founding member and trustee, Possum Point Players
Hartzell enjoys attending concerts by the Southern Delaware Society, the Seaford Community Concert Association and Coastal Concerts. “The last time we went [to Coastal Concerts], we saw a collection of tremendously talented people: a pianist and three string players performing classical music. They were excellent.” Hartzell also recommends shows at the Dickens Parlour Theater in Millville, the work of Clear Space Theatre Company in
Rehoboth Beach and many other organizations.
