The Joshua M. Freeman Foundation recently announced its 2017 summer season at The Freeman Stage at Bayside, which will feature a diverse offering of dance, theater, children’s performances and live music in celebration of its 10th season.
National acts include Jay Leno, The O’Jays, Blues Traveler, Chicago, Trombone Shorty, as well as country acts Dustin Lynch and Hunter Hayes.
“This year’s lineup showcases the heart of our mission and is a beautiful mix of performances. We hope our patrons take a chance and experience a different genre —whether it’s through dance, with hip-hop or ballet performances, classical, blues, rock, country or jazz,” said Patti Grimes, executive director of the Joshua M. Freeman Foundation, in a statement.
The Saturday morning children’s series will continue and crowd favorites that will once again grace the stage include the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, the First State Ballet, Clear Space Theatre and Brown Box Theatre Company. Locals Under the Lights, where local artists have their moment in the spotlight, also returns this summer.
The Freeman Stage at Bayside, located in the Bayside community at the intersections of Del. 54 and Del. 20, will kick-off this season at 7 p.m. May 27 with a performance by the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus. Regular weekly performances will continue with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra on June 16.
