From April 15 to May 13, The Grand and LIVE @ 818 host live musical performances on Vimeo for local listeners throughout the First State.
Get ready for a summer of live entertainment as The Grand in Wilmington host musical performances featuring local musicians. On April 15, 29 and May 13, these incredible artists will perform on the baby grand stage while LIVE @ 818 Series brings each performance to listeners’ homes through Vimeo.
To kick off the performances, Adelumo, or Richard Raw, and the World Warrior Band will take the stage to perform its unique blend of soul, spoken word, funk and African-centered cultural hip hop. Adelumo’s work draws inspiration from hip hop greats like Public Enemy, KRS-1, Rakim, The Roots, Nas and soul artists Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
Following this hip hop star is “The Princess of Jazz” Maya Belardo on April 29. With a passion for jazz, she has sung at venues across the East Coast and is inspired by jazz legends like Nat King Cole.
As the last performance, Jea Street Jr. brings his form of artivism through a musical performance to The Grand’s stage on May 13. He is a known singer/songwriter from Wilmington who created one of the first online music festivals at the beginning of COVID-19.
Each performance will be streamed through Vimeo Live at $14.99 per device. To purchase tickets, visit here.
