Hagley’s “Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon” Exhibit Runs Through March 2014

Celebrating Nylon’s 75th anniversary, the museum explores the DuPont material’s impact on fashion, war and culture.

Where would we be without Nylon? One of DuPont’s most famous products, the world’s first synthetic textile fiber nearly caused riots when it hit the market as ladies’ hosiery in 1938. To celebrate nylon’s 75th anniversary, Hagley opens “Fashion Meets Science: Introducing Nylon,” which shows how it changed fashion, war and the culture in general. See it April 6-March 31, 2014. A special family event, Fashion, Sports, and Fun with Nylon! on April 6 shows kids the science behind the product. (658-2400 , hagley.org)
