“Be productive at work and be present with my loved ones.” That’s Heidi Lowe’s definition of success. Perhaps a tall order for someone who wears four hats in her work at Heidi Lowe Gallery in Rehoboth Beach: gallery owner, jeweler, teacher and creative business coach.
Lowe had her first jewelry shop at age 13, but today she runs a gallery of 45 other artists’ works by organizing exhibitions and doing daily gallery management with a goal of “curating a grouping of work that pushes the envelope of what people think of as jewelry,” she says. This thinking carries over to her roles as artist and educator. While teaching others the fundamentals of metalsmithing, she talks about the power of jewelry and its strong connection to the body. As a coach, Lowe helps creative business owners take their businesses to the next level by helping them “gain clarity about where they are, what is working, where they want to go and how to get there,” she says.
