Are you familiar with Allen McLane? You should be: He’s kind of Delaware famous. The Revolutionary War hero was the First State’s first U.S. marshal, a post he held in 1789. He was a collector of the Port of Wilmington, too. Fete the life of this officer in George Washington’s army at a historical symposium at Wesley College on Oct. 25.
