Speaking of Rockwood, The Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival, Delaware’s largest family picnic, returns June 28-29. The festival features fine food at family friendly prices, artists and crafters displaying their wares on Rockwood Main Street, live music on two stages, games and, of course, ice cream from some of the finest dairies in the region. “There’s plenty to see and do, and 95 percent of our vendors are Delaware-based, so the festival is a great way to spend the day, meet your friends and neighbors and support the community,” says organizer Barry Schlecker. Besides ice cream, food, music, games, and arts and crafts, the festival gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the services offered by nonprofit organizations and local businesses. Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children under 12. For more, visit rockwoodicecream.com.
