Just Around the Corner: Chadds Ford Art Sale and Show

Free to attend, this even will feature works by more than 70 professional artists.

Founded by Betsy Wyeth in 1949, the Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show happens March 20-22, with special events including an art salon, artisan showcase, art tours and a children’s art cafe. The event is free and open to the public. The featured artist is Shawn Faust, an award-winning Brandywine Valley artist who creates magnificent oil paintings of horses, landscapes and people. Some of Faust’s famous commissions include Barbaro and Seattle Slew. The Donating Artist is Ana Delia McCormack. Her beautiful florals and landscapes are infused with warm colors that reflect her strong Latin influence. At The Salon, see a special exhibition titled “Other Points of View,” curated by local artist Lele Galer. See unique art created by local contemporary artists David Oleski, Rhoda Kahler, Jasmine Alleger, Erica Brown and Stan Smokler. Also join guides for tours of the art collection at Chadds Ford Elementary. The collection includes pieces from artists prominent in establishing the Brandywine Tradition and those who further defined the artistic heritage of the area.  Learn how the collection and the school interweave into the local history and tradition of art. The show features works by more than 70 professional artists from the Brandywine Valley and beyond.  A complete list of participating artists and artwork samples are available at cfes.ucfsd.org/artshow.
