They say when you want something done, ask the busiest woman you know. It stands to reason that a busy woman would also know the secret to work-life balance.
“Delegation, organization and listening to the advice of others who have been through what you are going through,” says Kim I. Adams. She is president of Mountain Consulting, where she is responsible for all contract administration, including managing subcontracts, deliveries, invoicing, bonding and progress meetings to make sure all projects are running as proposed or better.
She and her husband established the business in 2003, and in 2014 she was recognized as the first black business owner and the first female business owner in Delaware to become certified in the HUBZone Program, which encourages economic development in underutilized business corridors.
