One self-obsessed queen. One beautiful princess. Seven unforgettable dwarfs. One very bad apple. The Delaware Children’s Theatre has discovered the formula for pure entertainment with its upcoming production of “One Magic Kiss: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from Jan. 16–31. “One Magic Kiss” is a magical retelling of the classic story. Directed and based on the script by Emmy Award-winner (“Guiding Light”) Donna Marie Swajeski and featuring a score by Gregg Opelka, composer of “The Beverly Hillbillies, The Musical,” “One Magic Kiss” bubbles with a wonderful sense of humor that kids and adults alike will enjoy. “One Magic Kiss” introduces us to a diva queen who is obsessed with wrinkles, her “Ladyz in Waiting” backup singers, a reggae-belting wizard and, of course, those dynamic seven dwarfs. Through upbeat songs and new characters, the show delivers an inspiring message about bullies, finding friendship and fighting back. “One Magic Kiss” is funny, warm and a sure way to revive the spirits during the post-holiday slump.
Audience members are encouraged to arrive dressed in their finest attire or favorite costumes. A Princess and Prince parade will be held prior to the start of every show. “One Magic Kiss” is highly recommended for all ages four and up.
