Delaware All-State Theatre will present the multi-Tony Award-winning musical comedy Monty Python’s “Spamalot” in the Laird Performing Arts Center of The Tatnall School for two weekends beginning June 19. Adapted from the 1975 comedy film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” “Spamalot” makes audiences burst with laughter through its irreverent parody of the classic tale of King Arthur and his knights’ quest for the Holy Grail. A combination of off-kilter hilarity and blinding talent, “Spamalot” boldly and indubitably leaves audiences entertained. “We are fortunate to have so many über-talented student performers participate in DAST,” says Jeffrey Santoro, founder-director of Delaware All-State Theatre. “Monty Python humor transcends the ages. From the entertaining Knights of the Round Table to the Knights of NI, we are honored to be performing this show during the 40th anniversary year celebrating the opening of ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail,’ the film. Our students are brilliant in their performances and certainly will make all of the original members of the Monty Python comedy troupe very proud.” DAST features the best actors from schools around Delaware and beyond.
Students featured in principal roles include Jameson May of Cab Calloway School of the Arts as King Arthur, Will Rotsch of Salesianum as Patsy, Duncan Smith of Kennett High as Sir Galahad, Julian Manjerico of Elkton High as Sir Robin, Keelin Reilly of Archmere Academy as Sir Lancelot, Lyndie Moe of Cab Calloway School of the Arts as Lady of the Lake, Benjamin Von Duyke of The Tatnall School as Sir Bedevere-Dennis’ mother, Declan Bado of Cab Calloway School of the Arts as Prince Herbert’s father-historian, Jacob Tracey of Cab Calloway School of the Arts as Minstrel, James Christopher of Salesianum as Prince Herbert, Christopher Cooke of Cab Calloway School of the Arts as Not Dead Fred-Knight of NI, Jake Collins of Salesianum as Concorde, Taylor Goodwin of The Tatnall School as mayor-guard 2, and Anthony Vincent of Salesianum as French guard-Tim the Enchanter. Rounding out the cast is a gifted ensemble.
