In an age when work-life balance is a hot topic, Maribeth B. Dockety has a formula worth adopting: “Leave work when the day is over and don’t feel guilty about what you did not finish,” proclaims the director of human resources for Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus.
Dockety and her staff of six support more than 850 employees there. While her job may seem overwhelming at times, Dockety shares this philosophy about success: “It doesn’t matter what you do in life, as long as you are fulfilled by the results of your labor … whether it is building a house, singing a song that brings joy to another’s heart or simply being kind,” she says. “What could be better than this?”
