As part of the Concord Mall, The Muse Box Selfie Museum is an innovative photography studio with interactive booths and hand-painted artwork.
Lights, camera, selfie! That’s the motto to follow at The Muse Box Selfie Museum, a new innovation photography studio at the Concord Mall. Unlike a typical mall photography studio, The Muse Box brings more than 30 innovative installations, hand-crafted artwork by local artists, interactive photo-op booths and Instagram-worthy backgrounds.
The Muse Box Selfie Museum is inspired by businesses seen in larger cities like New York and Los Angeles. Co-founders Rashawn Prince and Jermaine Miller II wanted everyone to experience its creative power, so they brought it to Delaware and Maryland.
“We saw a lot of [these museums] in New York and LA, major cities, and we wanted to bring that big-city excitement to our hometown [Maryland], so we did and it was a big success,” explains Prince. “So now we’re just expanding.”
After their first location in Maryland went viral on TikTok, gaining over 260K views and becoming flooded with new customers, the duo decided to start expanding to other locations in hopes of bringing that same excitement to local communities.

Prince and Miller searched for a location that offered promise, one that had an artistic community but didn’t have anything like The Muse Box, and that location was Wilmington.
“We didn’t know exactly in which direction we were going, but we have family that has gone to Delaware State, so we thought maybe Delaware would be promising,” Prince adds. “We were just trying to think back to a community where we don’t see this type of thing, and it’s a way to open people up to new experiences.”
One of the coolest aspects of this museum is that everything is interactive. Each room or booth has artwork on the walls designed by local artists as well as props, furniture and more that guests are encouraged to interact with. Although the Delaware location features artwork by Maryland artists, the museum is always looking to collaborate with local Delawareans on creative pieces to feature.
“We have a full diner installation where you can stand behind the counter or sit at it with food that looks extremely real,” says Prince. “We have a pumpkin patch room for Halloween that smells like cinnamon and we have a throne room with a big throne chair surrounded by beautiful greenery and gold embellishments.”
The Muse Box Selfie Museum’s Delaware location doubled in size compared to the Maryland one, with six additional rooms, extra booths and more wall space for guests to take photos against.
“This location is more open, so when people walk by its almost like their eyes light up because you can’t miss it,” says Miller. “That’s really what we want people to see, the brightness, the colors, everything. Artists that we’ve worked with in the past came here and everything came out a lot crisper and cleaner than our first store.”
The museum opened on October 14 in the Concord Mall and is unlike any other business in the area. With creative artwork, cool designs and amazing photography, The Muse Box Selfie Museum is a must-see in Delaware.
