In 2013, Priscilla Turgon created Project New Start to be a catalyst for positive change and address the lack of economic opportunities, poverty, stressed families and high educational dropout rates contributing to the violence in Delaware.
As founder and executive director, she’s responsible for the total operation of the organization, including administration, programming, marketing and development. When Turgon isn’t at work, she likes to stay active. “I rollerblade, jog and water ski,” she says. “Physical activity keeps me centered and somewhat sane.”
She has also learned that the key to balancing personal and professional responsibilities is setting boundaries. “I remember to focus on what I need to function at my best both personally and professionally and not feel guilty.”
