The founder and brewer at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery partners with country music star Jimmie Allen on a limited-edition album.
This weekend, the power of music comes alive as Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and country music star Jimmie Allen release a limited-edition vinyl, music video and IPA on Record Store Day, Saturday, June 12.
Record Store Day is an annual celebration of independently owned record stores, and Dogfish Head has been the official brewery for the past seven years. It collaborates with multi-platinum, chart-topping, American County Music Awards 2021 “New Male Artist” award winner and Delaware native Jimmie Allen in releasing a limited-edition album, song and music video titled “Hazy-O!”
Co-authored with Dogfish Head’s founder and brewer Sam Calagione, “Hazy O!” channels Dogfish Head’s Hazy-O! Hazy IPA, a golden oat milk-centric IPA brewed with four types of oats—malted, rolled, naked and oat milk.
This four-track vinyl album features three of Allen’s hits— “Happy Hour,” “Slower Lower,” “Hazy-O!” and “Good Times Roll.”
Drawing inspiration from Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley and Bob Dylan, Allen and Calagione’s song offers a beachy vibe with a seaside music video featuring folks enjoying the Delaware coast. Allen grew up in Milton, a mile away from the brewery, so the “Hazy-O!” music video drew in aspects of Delaware, like its beaches, boating, fishing and more.
The official video debuts on Saturday, June 12, but music lovers can take a sneak peek here.
Record Store Day will continue into Sunday this year with pop-up record shops, DJs spinning vinyl, giveaways and other music-centered events at Dogfish Head’s coastal properties.
