The Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover welcomes the Shoreline Garden Railroad Club back for the fifth annual large-scale model train layout inside the main hangar starting Nov. 23. These are not your typical small Christmas trains. The locomotives can be over 36 inches long and can weigh more than 40 pounds. Garden-scale trains are meant to be run outside in large backyard layouts, but the AMC Museum has room in the big hangar to let you enjoy them in warmth and comfort, rain or shine. This year’s layout will allow the operation of four trains at one time. Volunteers from the club will be happy to explain their hobby to you. And don’t forget to visit the museum’s largest addition, the C-5A Galaxy. Weather permitting the C-5 will be open every Saturday in December. Fly one of AMC’s flight simulators—for free—and do some Christmas shopping at the museum store. The trains run until Jan. 2. For more, call the museum at 677-5939.
