2. Sample local brews at the eighth annual 302 Drinkers’ Choice Awards
The (Un)Official Beer Festival of Delaware returns to Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes for an eighth year of celebrating local brewing. From noon to 4 p.m., festival goers can sample brews while enjoying food and music. If your ideal spring activity includes supporting local brewers at a fun party, this is the event for you. Tickets cost $55 and include endless samples of beer as local breweries vie for your votes in categories like “most creative beer,” “fan favorite,” “best brewery costume and booth,” and more. Designated driver tickets are also available for $15, which include drinks from the nonalcoholic menu.

3. Take in the views of local blooms at the 2025 Lewes Tulip Celebration
Nothing says “spring” like fresh flowers—and lots of them! This annual celebration of local blooms takes place every year in Lewes. There are many ways to enjoy this festival. Grab a Tiptoe to the Tulips Map from the Visitor Center at the historic Fisher-Martin House (120 Kings Highway) and embark on a self-guided tour of the tulips around town. The History in Bloom Walking Tours take place on April 12 starting at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. The tours are led by a historic guide and a guide from Lewes in Bloom, so participants can learn about history and tulip varieties all at once. On April 18 and 19, Lewes in Bloom will also be selling tulips at Bank Street Plaza on Second Street.

4. Enjoy garden dining and drinking around Delaware
From brunch in Scout Cafe‘s back garden to happy hours at The Garden at Bardea, spring is the perfect time of year to take advantage of Delaware’s outdoor dining destinations. The Quoin offers swanky small bites and cocktails at the rooftop lounge, and The Oasis at Somewhere in Rehoboth Beach allows diners to dine and drink amid plenty of vibrant flowers and greenery. Spring is strawberry season! Delawareans can pick their own strawberries at Fifer’s every Saturday, along with enjoying a variety of other “Saturday Extras” at the farm like live music, tractor rides, and farm animal exhibitions. 6. Enjoy pageantry and spring fun at Winterthur’s Point-to-Point
Don your favorite hat and festive dress and welcome spring the old-fashioned way at a local horse race. The May 4 event is packed full of fun at Winterthur. From tailgating in the morning to an antique carriage parade to pony and horse races, Point-to-Point at Winterthur is widely considered to be a quintessential spring activity in Delaware.

7. Celebrate women in music at Wilmington’s Annual Ladybug Music Festival
This block party celebration is the perfect way to enjoy the start of the warm season in Wilmington. On May 30, female-fronted musical acts from across the region and the country will perform on stages throughout downtown Wilmington. 8. Have a picnic at Mt. Cuba Center
Mt. Cuba Center is a must-visit during spring in Delaware. The public botanical garden opens for the season on April 1 and includes plenty of trails through stunning meadows and gardens, around scenic ponds, and through wooded areas. Enjoy strolls through the gardens, then pick a spot to unpack your picnic and enjoy a meal in the perfect spring atmosphere.

10. Celebrate Juneteenth at Winterthur
Close out the spring season at this annual Juneteenth celebration. With the backdrop of Winterthur’s stunning gardens, this is a can’t-miss Juneteenth freedom celebration. The Wilmington Ballet and the cast of “A Celebration of Black Joy” will join Winterthur to present interactive activities like storytellers, musical performances, dance, and other performances deeply rooted in African American arts and culture.
