Welcome to Delaware Today’s arts blog, the spot to dish on the many cultural opportunities available to Delaware audiences. We’ll cover as many genres as possible, and note great events offered by organizations large and small, in all three counties.
Happy holidays.
All of us at Delaware Today wish Vicki Saltzman, the senior communications manager at Winterthur Museum & Country Estate, a fond farewell. The very best of luck to you, Vicki. We’ll miss you.
Here’s what’s happening this weekend.
The Icons
Yuletide at Winterthur runs thru January 10. There isn’t must time left to see Winterthur Museum & Country Estate all dressed up for the holidays, but it’s quite the spectacle. Stop in for lunch. The cafeteria offers gourmet dishes, a bountiful salad bar and homemade desserts. (The tree pictured to the left is one of the many at Winterthur.)

Longwood Gardens Christmas runs thru January 10. Folks come from the tri-state area to see Longwood’s decorated trees, poinsettias and outdoor light displays. This is a good way to keep the spirit alive. Winter looms.

A Brandywine Christmas is up thru January 10 at the Brandywine River Museum. We locals are lucky to have iconic museums in our backyards, and this one, especially at Christmas, is worth a holler. Plan your visit well, and you can hit three exhibits: “Holiday Shops” (thru Dec.30),
“Dolls at Christmas” (thru Jan. 10), and “A Brandywine Christmas” (thru January 10).
