A Grand Lineup

While we’re on the subject of The Grand, it bears mention that there are more good shows lined up for 2011-2012 than we can mention in the arts preview that you’ll read in the September ish, so here are a few to start planning for now.

First, the music:
Country legend Jerry Jeff Walker—with a full band—plays October 2. Jazz guitarist and 17-time Grammy winner Pat Metheny plays Oct 7.

Five-time Grammy winner Mary Chapin Carpenter appears October 9. A multimedia tribute, The Miles Davis Experience: 1949-1959, with world-renowned trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, plays November 10. Just announced: Alt-rock giants The Pixies have extended their Doolittle tour, and it’s coming to Wilmington.

Did we mention comedy? TV star Wanda Sykes appears October 12, followed by the inimitable Steven Wright October 21. Sinbad returns January 13.

Then there are other performances: the spooky “Magic of the Night” October 23 and the National Acrobats of The People’s Republic of China on November 22.

That just scratches the surface. (We had to leave a few surprises.) So make time for a visit. Check thegrandwilmington.org.

Our Sip, Sample & Savor event is October 23!
