First State Ballet Theatre is presenting its 10th Anniversary Gala on May 22. This is no ordinary gala.

The three-part show begins with “Paquita,” the story of a Gypsy girl who is not what she seems. But then again, are any of us what we seem? Next will be excerpts from past FSBT shows, closing with “Everlasting Arms,” a stunning Viktor Plotnikov ballet inspired by the works of Wilmington sculptor Charles Parks.

Ballet lovers will enjoy this mix of classical and contemporary highlights from the formidable company’s first decade. Here’s to many more.
