The Brothers Are Back

Senior Editor Maria Hess dishes on Delaware’s arts scene. Got a show you want to discuss? You’re on.

The Smothers Brothers visit The Grand March 15.

If you remember the 1960s TV show, you remember the biting humor that resonates today. Expect sharp critiques on conservative politics, and atypical yet optimistic views on humanity.

For more about the brothers, see our story in Delaware Today at http://www.delawaretoday.com/Delaware-Today/March-2010/Oh-Brother/.

The Smothers Brothers were presented with the George Carlin Freedom of Expression Award from the Video Software Dealers’ Association in 2003. The award recognized their support of the First Amendment, which is what made them great, but also got them fired from CBS.  (If the same show existed today, they’d be revered). In 2008 The Boston Comedy Festival bestowed a Lifetime Achievement Award on the brothers.
