Pickleball enthusiasts rejoice! The Picklr—North America’s fastest-growing indoor pickleball franchise—is coming to Newark this spring.
The Newark location will feature 12 courts, two of which will be championship-sized. The pickleball courts will feature high-quality, outdoor-style surfacing in all the comforts of an indoor venue. Along with the 12 courts, the facility will also feature a full pro shop and a private event space.

Pickleball has been sweeping the nation—and Delaware along with it—for several years. During the pandemic, New Castle County executive and pickleball advocate Matt Meyer helped integrate 32 courts into the county parks system. In the following years, Delaware has become home to more than 20 additional courts.
As the demand for places to play rises, the indoor courts are sure to be a welcome addition to The Grove. Pickleball enthusiasts can also look forward to Picklr locations opening in Middletown, Christiana, Wilmington and a fourth club in southern Pennsylvania throughout 2025.
“Bringing The Picklr to Newark means the community will benefit from the best-in-class indoor pickleball experience offered anywhere. The Picklr takes the indoor pickleball to the next level with state-of-the-art clubs, all-inclusive, one-price memberships, combined with a ‘player-first’ optimal environment and unmatched programming for all ages, making The Picklr your best choice for indoor pickleball,” says James Maguire, co-founder of Newark PB LLC, one of the largest Picklr franchisees in the Northeast.
The Picklr provides programs for beginners and pickleball pros alike, offering a top-notch experience for players of all skill levels. Players can reserve a court for a drop-in fee or sign up for a membership. Members get free court reservations, clinics to brush up on their skills, participation in leagues and more.
