“The Projectionist” Comes to Dover’s Biggs Museum of American Art

Exploring Middletown native Gordon Brinckle’s plans to turn his basement into a fully functioning 1920s-style theater, the exhibit features a documentary, multi-media presentation and much more.

What drives a man to create a fully functional 1920s-style movie theater in the basement of his home? To find out, see “The Projectionist” at the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover through June 23. Nationally acclaimed, “The Projectionist” is a documentary, book and multi-media exhibition that explores the frustration and desire that compelled Middletown native Gordon Brinckle to create a unique art environment. See Brinckle’s original blueprints and floor plans, as well as photographs of Brinckle at work by exhibition creator Kendall Messick, Brinckle’s former neighbor. Oh, you can see the amazing theater, too.
