You thought it was just a bike race, but the Wilmington Grand Prix has been named one of the top 10 in the country by The U.S. Cycling Association. That means you get a Saturday full of action provided by the best cyclists while enjoying a festival on Market Street. The event is May 17-19, kicking off Friday with the Monkey Hill Time Trial, a race against the clock through Brandywine Park. Saturday offers four amateur races before the women’s and men’s pro races. The annual Governor’s Ride and Gran Fondo happen Sunday. All you have to do is register. Then look for more on a new race in downtown Newark Aug. 10.
