February is the season for love! For many people, it’s a time to celebrate with romantic getaways, extravagant date nights and exchanging thoughtful gifts with their significant other. For others, the love in the air can be a bit too much. If you want to celebrate the season—sans romance—these Valentine’s events for friends around the First State offer unique ways to enjoy all the fun of Valentine’s Day.
Saturday, February 4: Iris Folding Valentine’s Card Workshop at the Buzz Ware Village Center
Feeling artsy? Celebrate Valentine’s Day with friends by learning this surprisingly simple paper arts technique that yields beautiful and intricate-looking results. This popular folding technique uses strips of folded paper arranged in pattern that resembles the iris of a camera. Learn the technique and make a couple of fun Valentine’s Day-themed cards. Registration is $35 and includes all tools and materials needed to learn and create your own unique piece.
Thursday, February 9: Galentine’s Day at Platinum Dining Restaurants
Thursday is for the girls at Platinum restaurants in Wilmington! The Platinum Dining group owns restaurants throughout the greater Wilmington region including Eclipse Bistro, Taverna Rustic Italian, El Camino Mexican Kitchen, REDfire Grill and more. Grab your girl gang and head to any of these restaurants to enjoy some “Galentine’s Day” specials including fun pink cocktails and food specials.

Friday, February 10: Galentine’s Day Pours + Plants with Kent County Candles
Join Kent County Candles & Orchard Hill DIY Plant Co. at Petit Social Studio in Delaware City for an evening of candle-making and succulent planting. Monday, February 13: Valentine’s Bingo at Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen
