Due to the popularity of her sold-out talk “Wyeth on Wyeth: A Family Perspective” at the Brandywine River Museum of Art, Victoria Wyeth has agreed to repeat her talk on March 19 at 7 p.m. The doors of the Brandywine River Museum of Art open at 6 p.m. to let guests visit the galleries or eat or drink before the program. Victoria Wyeth, the only grandchild of Andrew Wyeth, is renowned for her high-octane gallery tours and lectures on members of the Wyeth family of artists. Her talks are lively and informative, interspersed with her personal memories and family stories. Wyeth will discuss the development of her uncle Jamie Wyeth’s subject matter, in particular his portraits, and the range of media in which he works. The program is offered in conjunction with the acclaimed “Jamie Wyeth” retrospective exhibition, which includes works from Jamie Wyeth’s six-decade long career, but the talk is not limited to these works. The museum will remain open until 9 p.m., to let attendees re-visit the exhibition after the presentation and view the works in a new light. From 2004 until 2011, Victoria Wyeth conducted tours in the Wyeth galleries at the Brandywine River Museum of Art. Her talks during the 2005 “Memory and Magic” Andrew Wyeth retrospective at the Philadelphia Museum of Art were consistently sold out. She continues to lecture to private organizations and museums across the country and abroad. (610) 388-8326, www.brandywinemuseum.org
