Wendy L. Dixon has spent her 39-year career developing and commercializing medicines for a wide range of diseases. “Now as a board member, I oversee the strategy and governance of the companies I am on and chair and/or participate in formal committees,” she says.
She is grateful to have spent a good part of her life loving her work and career, and she wants more women to do the same. “I think women have to go for what they are passionate about. I know a young woman who described herself as a rocket scientist, and she’s actually really working on the Jeff Bezos space project,” she says. “I think it’s important for people to do what they love and be successful at it, whatever their definition of successful is.”
