When the legendary funk band War put that question to music in 1975, the song echoed a cry for peace that had infiltrated anti-Vietnam America for years. Headed by singer-keyboardist and original founder Lonnie Jordan, War graces The Grand February 11. A musical force of the 1970s, War was responsible for “The Cisco Kid,” “Low Rider,” and many other hits. The band briefly halted recording during the 1980s, yet despite the loss of a few key members, it never stopped touring. The Rehoboth Art League and the Biggs Museum of American Art team up for “Behind Blue Doors: Famous Creations From The Rehoboth Art League” through February 20. The exhibit unveils the secrets of the league’s permanent art collection. Held at the Biggs, in Dover, the show offers artists in Sussex an opportunity to display their paintings. Since RAL’s opening in the 1930s, it has been a focal point for local artists, but due to its space constraints and limited climate-controlled areas, there has been little opportunity for artists to display en masse, so this is a great opportunity for artists and afficionadoes alike.
