Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library again has been named to Patricia Schultz’s “1,000 Places To See In The United States & Canada Before You Die,” the No. 1 New York Times bestselling travel guide. Shultz’s first book, “1,000 Places To See Before You Die,” was a world guide published in 2003 that spent 85 weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list.
The new, 1,200-page third edition is completely revised and updated, in full color for the first time. Winterthur is featured on page 116 with a color photo of the exterior of the museum, galleries, and library.
“Covering the U.S.A. and Canada like never before, and for the first time with full-color photographs, here are 1,000 compelling, essential, offbeat, utterly unforgettable places,” publisher Workman Publishing Company notes on its website.
The iconic travel guide is widely recognized as having changed the face of travel publishing. After its success, the book was updated and re-issued in 2007 as “1,000 Places To See In The United States & Canada Before You Die.” It also became an instant bestseller and together, the “1000 Places” books have 4.26 million copies in print.
