Chadds Ford Elementary School will welcome more than 65 local and regional professional artists to the 69th Annual Art Sale & Show March 16–17.
Founded by Betsy Wyeth, the show allows artists from the Brandywine Valley and beyond to display and sell their art in mediums that will satisfy every taste and budget. This year’s featured artist is Jaclyn Beam, a plein air Impressionist artist from the Brandywine Valley whose work has been in exhibits alongside Karl Kuerner and Steven White. The donating artist is Kathy Ruck, whose florals and landscapes showcase her brilliant watercolor technique.
The show kicks off Friday, March 16, with a complementary reception and sale for adults only. Everyone is welcome Saturday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; in addition to the exhibit and sale, there will be free guided tours of the art collection and a paint-along from 1–3 p.m.
Betsy Wyeth, wife of the late Andrew Wyeth, started the Chadds Ford Annual Art Sale & Show in 1949 and continued her involvement while her son Jamie Wyeth was a student at Chadds Ford Elementary. The sale continues to be the school’s largest fundraiser. All proceeds support educational enrichment programs at Chadds Ford Elementary.
