It’s that time of year again: Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday (Feb. 13 this year). The annual celebration is celebrated 47 days before Easter and the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. Fat Tuesday usually consists of indulging on decadent food and drink. Ready to feast? We’ve got two eateries that will satisfy all your cravings.
Nora Lees is hosting a Fat Tuesday Burlesque celebration. Drink specials include hurricanes, Sazeracs, Pimm’s Cups and grenade shots. The restaurant will be serving po’boys, muffalettas, jambalaya and gumbo. Roger Girke will be performing.
North Quarter Creole, which recently renovated its first floor, will be serving plenty of delicious dishes. Specials will include Louisiana crawfish broiled with potatoes, corn and sausage; French dip sandwich served with Cajun fries; barbecued shrimp; muffaletta salad wraps; and red beans, rice and Andouille sausage. (The regular menu will also be available.)
