I’m a fan of the KISS rule: Keep It Simple, Stupid. Whenever you try to go by KISS, things seem to work out. With that in mind, I put together an inspiration page for a simple, sweet country wedding. I’m thinking of a JOP presiding over the ceremony. The dress* would be understated (no tulle here), and the guys would wear collared shirts and ties.
The reception would be an elegant barn party of sorts. There would be a bonfire, s’mores and probably a few pairs of cowboy boots. But it would also be elegant–lots of champagne, dancing and an amazing dinner.
The slowly changing leaves inspired my color choice of green and orange. But you could go with just about any fall palate. Brown and orange could be stunning, too.
What do you think? Would you ever get married at a courthouse? Would you enjoy my country hoedown? Or do you prefer the fairy tale wedding?
*I pulled the dress from the last issue of Delaware Bride. If you want to pick it up, it’s from Jennifer’s Bridal in Hockessin.
