Barratt’s Chapel, Frederica, Delaware, 1900

 

Barratt’s Chapel, built in 1780, is considered by many to be the “cradle of Methodism.” It has been designated a Heritage Landmark of the Methodist Episcopal Church and is the oldest surviving structure built by and for Methodists in the United States.
